Perspective—it’s not easy, but it’s easier than you think! In this engaging and informative beginners class, we’re going to learn about perspective—the way that objects visually change in size depending on how close or far away we are from them—through a variety of methods and options that you can pick and choose from to apply to your work.
In this class we’ll be focussing on
—Perspective Basics
—Tilting and Leaning
—Perspective and Proportion
with the help of plenty of examples, fun exercises, and on-hand guidance.
No particular materials required other than a drawing implement and paper—although we recommend that complete beginners don’t use charcoal or wet mediums.
Feel free to ask any questions you like in this friendly online group setting, where after class we’ll get a chance to show one another our work (for those who wish to) and connect with other artists. As always, class members are free to send Ann a photo of one of their works from class for an additional digital mark-up with further critique.
This class is part of Soho Life Drawing’s mini-class series designed to give beginner, early-stage, and self-taught life drawers a leg up. Choosing from a variety of poses and examples from contemporary art and art history, these comprehensive classes allow students to get a more in depth understanding of life drawing as well as one-on-one critiques for those who wish—who can send Ann a photo of one of their works from class for an additional visual mark-up.
