Learn some key tips and tricks to creating realistic watercolour portraits in this new beginners' class!
We'll be covering key concepts in watercolour portraiture and using watercolours from the ground up, including
-A brief intro to choosing a watercolour-friendly reference
-Mixing flesh tones
-Working wet-on-wet and creating gradients
-Drawing from a grid
For a brief overview of some of the concepts involved in this session visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSpeNVSKeOM
For our finished watercolour, we will be using mixes of the following colours
-yellow ochre, burnt umber, burnt Sienna, cadmium red, ultramarine, turquoise, indigo and alazarin crimson --although don't worry if you don't have these specific colours--if you have red, yellow, and blue you should be able to approximate them through mixing. Time permitting, Ann will email you a colour chart before class (we'll also go through this in class). For advice on colours or any pre-class questions, please feel free to email Ann at [email protected].
