Beginners' Urban Watercolours for Charity
Sun Feb 11, 18:00-19:30 GMT Zoom Link Emailed After Purchase--Recording Available*
Learn to create atmospheric watercolour urban landscapes using a limited palette and some very fun watercolour techniques in this new class where all proceeds will be going to the lifesaving work of the International Red Cross!
In class we’ll be using how to choose references and scenes that will work well for watercolour portraits, and composition techniques to bring out the wow factor in your paintings. We’ll learn some basic facts about perspective, and also how colour and sharpness influences the way that we understand space in watercolour paintings. We’ll be covering
-Choosing your Palette
-Choosing your Reference and Understanding Light
-Basic Linear Perspective
-Mixing Watercolours
-Working wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry.
-Enhancing depth
Don’t worry if you have absolutely no experience with watercolours whatsoever—before class you’ll be emailed a pre-recorded, step-by-step video of the complete painting we’ll be doing in class that you can review at your own leisure.
Ann will be using a 12 set of Koh-i-Noor Anilinky Watercolours and Seawhite Watercolour Paper. We recommend beginners purchase the same Anilinky 12 set for upcoming paint-along classes (around £7). Please return to the Online Classes page and scroll down for detailed information about the materials Ann will be using in this series of watercolour classes.
