Beginners Watercolours: Chiaroscuro 2
VIDEO
In this class we’ll be learning how to paint figures using Chiaroscuro, the art of dramaticising compositions by pushing light and dark values to their max. We’ll be learning how to use empty space to create the impression of light for dynamic figures, using black ink to create contrast, and working with colour in some unexpected ways to create flesh tones.
Designed for beginners, tutor Ann Mackowski will be providing on-screen examples and demonstrations for each step in the process, and breaking down our reference poses into diagrams to help you with your finished work.
