What better way to dive into the world of painting portraits than Chiaroscuro--the art of dramatically enhancing light and dark values. Designed for complete beginners and suitable as well for more advanced artists looking to take advantage of a recap and some fabulous references; in this class we'll be learning the basics of drafting portraits and using light and dark values. This class will focus on
--How to draft portraits
--Chiaroscuro
--Creating portraits using light and dark values
With plenty of wonderful references to work from as well as on screen, step-by-step examples, you can expect to leave this class with not only an understanding of how to draw portraits, but how to create drama in portraiture using watercolours. This is a great jumping off point into the world of watercolour portraiture.
Please bring:
—Red, Yellow, and Blue Watercolours
—RECOMMENDED: Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Alazarin Crimson or Pyrrol Crimson, Raw Umber, Ultramarine, Pthalo Blue
--Paintbrushes
--Watercolour Paper
--2-3 Cups Water
--Paper Towels/Rag/ Etc... for Wiping
--Pencil and Eraser
