Step into the world of Baroque in this absorbing drawing class in which we’ll be exploring the movement and artists, and the techniques they used to create the dramatic, tragic, transcendent and ecstatic works of the era.
Taught by SLD founder Ann Mackowski, who often features baroque elements in her work, you can expect to learn with a mix of presentation, demonstration, and plenty of explanations. She’ll be covering the following:
—Intro to the Baroque Movement and Artists
—Rubenesque Life Drawing
If you are struggling with creating drawings with a sense of movement or dynamic gesture, you may find this class particularly useful, as the techniques we’ll cover are multi-applicable.
In terms of materials—we’ll just be focussing on their technique using pencil this time, but feel free to bring any other medium you see fit to use if you’re daring—we’re going to be looking at drawing artists’ paintings, not just their sketches.
