Beginners' Life Drawing: Tips and Tricks

This welcoming all-levels class will introduce simple, no nonsense techniques to easily tackle some of beginner life-drawers’ biggest challenges. From drawing hands and faces to creating perfect proportion, both beginners and more experienced artists alike will benefit from gratifyingly simple methods to quickly and accurately render the human figure.
Taught by Ann Mackowski, this class will cover
-Pencils: Sharpening, Holding, Measuring and Drawing*
-Quick Faces
-Quick Hands
-Using “The Envelope’ for Proportion
with any additional questions you may have answered with pleasure. Topics will be covered by on-screen demonstrations, plenty of exercises and new references for you to hone your skills on, and in-class feedback breaks.
*Only a pencil, eraser, and paper is needed for this class. However, to take advantage of the pencil techniques we’ll be briefing on in the beginning, we’d recommend bringing one high H (2H-8H) pencil, one HB or B pencil, and one high B pencil (3B-8B), as well as sandpaper and a carving knife.
